Greetings,

 

Since so many neat features can be added to your class pages in webct, moodle and edu20 by simply cutnpasting the HTML code that voki, flixn, slideshare, and many other sites give you - I recommend this as a skill to master - it only takes a few simple steps - but knowing the correct steps is the key!

 

 

First, you'd go to voki.com or flixn.com and follow their easy instructions which result in their giving you a box of HTML code to cutnpaste into your LCMS pages.

 

 

 

Embedding Voki or Flixn Code into a WebCT page using a PC

1. From the Design Options click on "Add Upper Text Box"
2. Enter a textbox title with any text you want
3. Paste the code into the text box
4. Click on the ?ADD? at the bottom of the Edit page. 

It Worked!

I had to try this half a dozen times to get the sequence right and with my slow access it was frustrating and I might still be missing a step or two. But, you get the idea. I'll start collecting such tested "how-to's" in case you have one or more to share.

It would be a real timesaver if we could share step-by-step instructions that are tested and complete for the various tools.

Practice Code for Learning to Embed multimedia in class pages

 

The only way to really understand how fun and easy it is to "embed code" to add multimedia bits to your course pages is TO DO IT!

 

Below are instructions on how to access my embeddedness test page in my Edu20.org test class. If you are using Moodle the steps are very similar. Let me know if you need step by step instructions for Moodle as I'm learning that LCMS, too, along with WebCt and EDU20.  Patience and Perseverance will see you through!

 

 

1. At www.edu20.org you have to first sign up as a general user at the site and give yourself an ID and Password. As an instructor, tell your students to first create an account for themselves.

 

 

2. Then, to access someone's private class you first log in at Edu20.org as yourself, (sign up free) and

 

 

3. Then enter the Class URL (given below) in the browser for which you wish to enroll and you'll be asked for the class password only - which I've given below, and you?ve added a class to your enrolled classes listing.

 

 

I've been having fun learning to create and embed multimedia bits ? it is easy once you know how.    Therein lies the rub, eh?
